Freezing issues resolved in CAM 4.30.2

Hello! My name is Carolyn and I'm one of the Product Managers here at NZXT working on CAM.


I'm happy to announce that we've officially pushed our fix for the crashing and freezing issue to production in CAM version 4.30.2. This fix has been in CAM Beta for several months now, and we're confident that it has addressed the issue for the vast majority of users.


If you're still experiencing crashing and freezing related to CAM, please comment on this thread and we will work to resolve any further arising issues related to this.

    on start up It shows stuff on cam for a few seconds and flashes blank a couple of times before staying blank white screen. I have uninstalled CAM and reinstalled still with the same issues.

    I have been experiencing freeze and loss of video problems with my monitor, having to reboot constantly throughout the day. Handmade bespoke custom cabinets for you kitchen

    "lately the CPU usage states during idle that it is jumping from 5-15% to 80-90% usage" yep, this is first symptom of freeze, it starts with rising CPU usage, then freeze. I could only use mouse, I can click, but nothing is responding.

    Latest version of CAM beta was working for ~2 months for me, then 3 freezes and since then it's ok again.

    I have been experiencing freeze and loss of video problems with my monitor, having to reboot constantly throughout the day. Sometimes it will work for 5 minutes, sometimes 5 hours, sometimes 10 hours. Is this a related factor? I just uninstalled NZXT because lately the CPU usage states during idle that it is jumping from 5-15% to 80-90% usage. Is this part of this issue you are referring to.

    So, follow up from yesterday, my PC: amd 5600x, win 10, built 3 months ago, so pretty fresh. Instant freezes from beginning, latest CAM (4.30.2) didn't work, switched to beta -> no freezies for ~6 weeks.

    Yesterday 3 times in 90 minutes when I just surfed internet in Chrome browser, to be honest it always happen with Chrome opened.

    Few weeks on beta was okay, today? 3 times in 90min... it's a joke.

    Hello, my x73 driver dont responding at changing my RPM, my aio stay only în 2800 RPM, usual i use silent(1800) and performance(2300),i changed profiles from silent to fixed, nothing changed also i reinstalled and nothing.. What should i do

    Hello, my x73 stay only în 2800 RPM, i change profiles from silent to fix and RPM îs not changing. He stay only în 2800,usual he stays în 1800-2300 on performance. What should i do?

    This problem still persists for me. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled windows with the same results. Cam never gets fully booted. I'm not sure if the pump gets turned off or what but the temperature sky rockets according to the readout on the cooler. Radiator fans go to max. Not really the way I would like to treat a brand new 5950x cpu. Has there been any progress on this? I opened ticket number 1170323. I have done as suggested and completely uninstalled cam and then used revo unintaller. As I mentioned I have also done a complete reinstall of Windows.


    I read somewhere that there might be a potential issue with Asus Armoury Crate. I did not install this software but its possible, again from what I read, that pieces of it may be installed based on a bios setting. I have not had time to track this lead down yet. Do you know if Armoury Crate is causing issues with CAM.

    Hi Carolyn,

    I was reporting this freezing several times now. As a fix I received Beta 4.30.2-b.1 which solve freezing (until now) BUT bring random restarting during play. If NZXT CAM is running my PC restart randomly... if I turn it off everything is working normal... Now it is 3y of reporting and trying to solve this issue without success. I am starting to be annoyed and probably buy another product.

    Hope the CAM team is doing great and all !


    I'm really sorry to tell you that despite the update of my CAM to version 4.30.2, it still hangs randomly. The cells, in the cooling tab, reporting Liquid thermals, Fan speed and Pump speed of my Kraken hang and are frozen at a set value, although the CPU and GPU temps cells are working well. So even if my CPU temp is going higher, my fans and pump are not ramping up according to the curve set in my profile. A restart of my system solve the issue, but the CAM software will hang at one point.


    System spec :


    CPU : AMD Ryzen 9 5950X

    Hi, I just purchased a Z73 Kraken. My build

    Asus Crosshair VII Dark Hero

    AMD Ryzen 9 5950X

    Windows 10 build 21H1

    RTX 2080 super Aorus from Gigabyte

    RTX 2060 Gigabyte

    The cooler works fine until I try to install the cam software. I have tried both the standard version and the beta version which I down loaded as recently as 11/14/21


    The software never seems to get fully booted but it does something as the readout on my cooler suddenly goes from the the 35 to 39C rand to around 65C and the radiator fans go in to overdrive.


    Rebooting does not help. I have to shut down the machine and then turn off the power supply for a bit. Turn it back on and then all is OK. If I just reboot or shut down wait and reboot it does not seem to help. Of course I had to uninstall the CAM software or it just repeats when Windows starts again. There is no opportunity to tweak anything within CAM as it never fully comes up.


    This cooler is one of the most expensive options available. The draw to this is the ability to customize the display. Without the software functioning as designed it just becomes a VERY expensive chance to have an extra couple hundred extra bucks pulled from your wallet.

    I'm hoping there is a resolution to this :)

    Hello Dear Carolyn. I am using windows 11 insider beta version on my computer. I was having a freezing problem until I upgraded to 22000.346. KB5007262 build. Within 5 days of switching to 22000,346, I haven't had any problems yet. I'm following... Finger crossed 😎
