I'm seeing the same issue with gifs. Support has not been helpful, I've asked them to just automatically execute the "retry" since it always works but they told me to post on here. In the meantime what works for me is to uncheck "stream from CAM" but obviously it lowers the gif framerate.
I've been having this same issue for months.. Nothing helps, not even a fresh install of Windows. Tons of complains on Reddit for the past 4 years so I don't have my hopes up. With recent NZXT scandals, this will be the last product I purchase..

I got the same problem after this update to 4.74.0
The 'communication to the device has failed' happens every 10~20 minutes. And after that, the fan will be running at full speed, very noisy.
