Thanks for the info @Zero Privacy, I too run an old HUE controller so likely the same issue here since the 4.64.2 update. I couldn't be bothered tearing my hardware apart as the controllers burried in my rig so just rolled back to an old version and blocked it from updating via windows hosts file.
Calling my issue resolved, not ideal but next build won't have an NZXT case or the HUE anyway.
Alright, so I don't know who this may help as it could be specific to my machine. But give it a shot? Here's the result.
The issue was being caused by my (dated 2018) HUE controller. Resolution: unplug both the USBmini and the ac adapter turning it off. Both need to be disconnected. Sure enough, when cam loaded back up, CPU use was back down to 0.1-0.5%
I also do not believe that NZXT Cam devs will resolve this. I was told that my HUE controller was end-of-life. (system was purchased in like, 2018, so that checks out.) I was told I could check to see if I had a warranty for replacement of the HUE, buy a new one, or leave it unplugged. I'll probably leave it unplugged, as I've had the lights on in the case for years now and I could care less about beauty.
That said, closing the application (CAM) after launch should also pose no issue if you want to do it that way. It resolves the cpu issue if it's closed lol.
I'm not a fan of this response. I'm kind of shocked they'd end of life their own hardware, as the HUE appears to be proprietary. But, whatever I guess. Nothing I can do about it.
Still, make a support ticket on the link below anyways. Your problem may not be my problem. And if it is, show them it is affecting more people. I was told "The tricky part is since this is a product that for the most part is end of life at this point and we don't really get many tickets related to this specific issue it may take longer for our CAM team to fully resolve this issue. Regardless your feedback is appreciated and did help us get a better idea as to what could be happening here." verbatim.
So yeah, hit em up I guess. I like my systems to last. And "end of life"-ing a light controller... is just... bleh. Gross.
That's all I got though. I probably won't return to this thread. Best of luck to anyone affected by this.
Very much so!!! At the point now where I'm considering downgrading to a past version as one of the previous commenters has done. But would be nicer if NZXT could just acknowledge this issue and work on a fix.
This has been one of the most upvoted threads on this support board for months yet still not even an acknowledgement. Whats the point of even having it?
I fixed it by blocking NZXT CAM in windows Firewall, uninstalled, installed an older version from 2023 and logged in as guest... CPU usage down to 1% (from 30% during gaming).
Wow i had no idea my Hue controller would cause this.

For those that want to fix it with a rollback here is a link to a known good and fairly recent version (4.60.4) hosted by NZXT, as well as instructions on editing hosts file etc - https://www.reddit.com/r/NZXT/comments/1bcge4s/downgrade_steps_for_those_having_issues_with_the/
Hope that helps.
i have the same problem its shoing that my cpu is 10-15 deg. hotter than it is
Same problem - does anyone know what the last version was that didn't have this issue, and where to get it from ?

Same here 25/30% CPU usage :S
I decided to send a report to:
https://support.nzxt.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
I'll update with anything they provide, unless they actually update this submission.
I recommend everyone who has this issue do the same.

THIS IS STILL AN ISSUE
thanks
Same here, task manager showing 9%-15% usage on CPU and for some reason with 5 or 6 processes running under one task.
Yep same here 10%+ got rid of nzxt cam rubbish, using fan control now soo much better!
Noticing the same issue since some recent updates. Does NZXT even bother looking at their support pages??

its seems they doesnt give a fuck about that!!!
estou tendo esse problema tambem se alguem souber como resolver por favor avise
Same still no fix very sad move using the time profiles for shutting down lights at night
I'm also having this issue, exactly as described in this thread. Started with CAM version 4.64.2 and is pressent with current version 4.64.3.
3 weeks still no fix?
Could someone from NZXT please acknowledge that this high CPU usage issue is something NZXT is aware of & that it is being worked on?
Having the exact same issue, very irritating to deal with
Same. Can´t use CAM or CAM beta anymore because of this.
