As silicon lottery becomes more of a factor in today's age, it would be nice if the CPU didn't have to soak in it's own sweat because the pump turned off with the system shutdown. Continuing to move the liquid would reduce thermal stress caused by heat soaking, ultimately extending the durable life of a CPU.
