I think this would be great. Many apps integrate with the Hue API as it is easily accessible. A Ambilight-like mode would also be a nice addition, as grabbing screen colors and mapping them to the LED strips isn't too hard either. Aura Sync has integration for this, but it is currently broken when trying to link a hue bridge.
